Elastic Closures

Created as result of a study on how best to fasten the telemetry control unit on the F1 Ferrari, these closures triggered great interest from customers looking for a safe, yet elastic and economic way of fastening their equipment. Due to customer demand, BARBIERI has extended production of these elastic rubber fasteners as elastic Straps and elastics rubber Closures.

Description

Rubber Elastic Closures for Quick Fastening of Lids and Covers

Barbieri Rubber elastic closures are elastic fastening devices used to close and lock lids, doors, tarpaulins, cases and industrial containers. They exploit rubber deformability to deliver controlled, repeatable closing tension. They are catalog rubber components, available in multiple lengths and compounds, some with metal or plastic end fittings (hooks, eyelets, loops).

What elastic closures are for

Elastic closures enable fast, repeatable fastening without complex mechanical tightening. They are used on trailer and truck tarpaulins, container lids, access doors to instruments and panels, removable frame fastening and accessories. Rubber provides the tension needed to keep the door closed without screws, complex hooks or locks, and is particularly suited where frequent opening and closing is needed.

Catalog standard version and custom designs

The standard range of elastic closures covers the most requested lengths, with co-molded or assembled end fittings. For custom geometries (special lengths, dedicated metal fittings, different sections) we produce closures on drawing: at least a preliminary drawing from the customer is required. The dedicated mold is manufactured in cooperation with our trusted toolmaking partners.
